Exercise your Right to VOTE!

Electorate from nine municipalities from around the country will hit the polls today, Wednesday, March 4, 2009, to elect representatives for local government positions. One mayor and 10 councilors will be elected for Belize City while Belmopan and the other municipalities will be electing one mayor and six councilors. One hundred and sixty four candidates will be contesting the election but only 67 seats are available. There are 5010 registered voters in San Pedro Town. The polls open at 7a.m. and close at 6p.m. Exercise your right to vote and make a difference in your country.
