Fire Scare at San Pablo Residence

Residents at a San Pablo home got a pretty big scare early this morning, as a fire broke out on the second floor of a concrete home at about 8:30am. Tenants on the ground floor of the building called the fire department as the smell of smoke filled their apartments. The Marin family, who reside in the second floor, had already left their home and nobody was there at the time of the fire. According to police officers at the scene, the fire was caused by a window AC unit which ignited a bed in one of the rooms. The concrete building mostly suffered smoke and water damage but the room where the fire started was totally damaged.

A fire disaster was averted by the San Pedro Fire Department as they were quick to respond to an emergency call at the San Pedro Roman Catholic School. On Saturday, March 20, the concession stand/booth at the school's five-a-side compound was in the initial stages of catching on fire. It seems that some electrical wiring had sparked a small fire that was quickly put out before any major damage was made to the structure.

Fire Breaks Out Next to Ambergris Stadium

A bush fire broke out tonight at about 7:20p.m. in an empty lot next to the Ambergris Stadium bordering the San Pablo/DFC Areas, which eventually turned out to become a fairly large fire. But the fire was not an immediate threat to homes as surrounding water-logged empty lots prevented the fire from spreading further and closer to neighboring homes. Surrounding neighbors believe that the fire was set intentionally because there had not been any persons clearing lots in the area and the fact that it started in the middle of the empty lots. Both Police and Fire Departments are investigating.
