Earthquake Creates Sink Hole, attracts many

Many residents crossed the bridge to the north side of the island this weekend to get a closer look at the sink hole that the earthquake created last week Thursday. A very large hole, about 30 feet in diameter, was left in an empty lot about one mile north of the bridge, close to Palapa Bar. Some even took the plunge and dove right in the hole that has accumulated water. Older folks believe that the hole could in fact be a cenote with underwater connections to the sea through cave systems. (Click on the pictures for a closer look at the sink hole).
