Volunteers at SP Library

University of North Carolina Wilmington students volunteered at the San Pedro Public Library while on break from students teaching in the local schools. Working with the librarians they arranged different Easter activities such as arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, and story time.

Vote for Tatiana Rivero

Tatiana Rivero is currently in Chiapas, Mexico attending the Miss Piel Dorada Internacional Pageant representing Belize. Ms Tatiana Rivero is the embodiment of Belizean women as she is beautiful, intelligent and rich in culture. She has been a positive role model for young women ever since winning the coveted title of Miss San Pedro in 2003. Online voting is available for the pageant. Miss San Pedro Interns at Ambergris Today

What is Miss San Pedro doing with a stack of Ambergris Today Newspapers? Delivering of course! But Raquel Badillo is not working for Ambergris Today under the capacity of Miss San Pedro, she is interning with the #1 Newspaper in town as she completes her office practice duties as a Fourth Form student at San Pedro High School. We are privileged to have Miss Badillo working with us for three weeks as she learns the ins and outs of the journalism profession.

Earth Hour, San Pedro 2010

Earth Hour observed in San Pedro, Belize as San Pedro Junior College organized a parade through the streets of town and asked residents to "power off" for the one hour Earth Hour observation. Activities concluded at the Old Football Field with a bonfire.

Singing and Dancing at the Festival of Arts

The San Pedro Roman Catholic School received three Gold awards and 11 Silver awards at the Festival of Arts regional competition that took place on Friday, March 26 at the Rafael Angel Nuñez Auditorium. The Island's primary school children were invited to showcase their talent for a chance to enter the national competition for the Festival of Arts what will take place at a later date in Belize City. San Pedro Roman Catholic School received the most awards followed by New Horizon Seventh Day Adventist School and Caye Caulker Primary School with three awards each. Congratulations to all the winners.

Child Stimulation Month Ends with Parade

ABC Pre-School

During the month of March pre-schools countrywide celebrated Child Stimulation Month under the theme "Investing in Early Childhood Education, A better Belize" where children had a month filled with educational activities. Preschools here on the island had many fun activities including, visits to the library, fire station, going to the park and having sports day, to name a few. And so ABC Pre-School, Little Angels Pre-School and San Pedro Pre-school, held a parade through the main streets of San Pedro to mark the end of Child Stimulation Month.

Story Time at SP Library

Head Librarian, Ira Acosta, had the attention of the students from San Pedro Pre School this morning as she read them a story. By the looks of it, they were enjoying the story.

ABC Pre School Visits Ambergris Today

A group of students from the ABC Pre School visited our office this morning to learn more about how the Ambergris Today Newspaper is made. School principal Wil Alamilla stated that his students were very excited to learn about the newspaper and requested to visit Ambergris Today. They even sang us a song as a gesture of thanks! So Cute!
