Alyssa Arceo Wins Spelling Bee

Alyssa Arceo came out victorious at the Spelling Bee Competition that took place at the Old Football Field on Tuesday, September15, as part of the September Celebrations here in San Pedro. Coming in second place was Marilyn Mora and in third place was Odalis Duarte, both of San Pedro Roman Catholic School. Alyssa was filed under a home schooled student. All 13 participants were awarded gifts from the San Pedro Town Council and the top the spellers were given an additional prize. Congratulations to all.

Vivel Rodriguez Winds Social Studies Quiz
School children convened once again at the Old Football Field for another competition, this time the Social Studies Quiz. Viviel Rodriguez of Ambergris Caye Elementary gained the top post in the competition, besting Marilyn Mora who came in second and Odalys Duarte who finished third, both of San Pedro Roman Catholic School. Congratulations to them all.

Spelling Bee at Ambergris Caye Elementary

Ambergris Caye Elementry School held a Spelling Bee competition amongst the children from different classes. This began since Wednesday with Infant I, Infant II and Middle Division. Principal Jacobs informed us that they are doing such competitions with the students for them to learn a sense of responsibility, to improve their academic skills and also to prepare for further competitions to come in the future with different schools. The San Pedro Town Council donated the Trophies to the winners.
