Lime's Asian Cook Off

We were Pretty bummed out that we could not make it to this month’s Lime Cook Off as the fundraiser events at there are always fun. But nevertheless, Lime held an Asian Cook Off this past Friday where participants were busy cooking up a storm all week to compete with each other. Lime reports that it was a great night with $510.00 raised on the food and $205.00 raised on the raffle for Saga. At the end of the night people voted on two winners Tanya Mejia and Chap Ross who shared the prize winnings. For more visit Boydie’s Belize Blog.

Lime's Best of the Best Cook Off

Lime held its last Cook Off of the year with the "Best of the Best" Cook Off on Friday, December11. Winners of past Cook Offs took on each other to determine who was the best chef. There were excellent entries from both amateur and professional chefs around the island. Taking the winner's spot was Dimas "DJ" Guerrero of Portofino and tying for second was Susana Eiley of El Fogon and an entry from Lime. Close to $800 was raised for Saga, the last fundraiser for their Isolation unit, as it should be complete by Christmas. Congratulations to Portofino and all past winners of Lime's Cook Offs.

Isla Bonita Cook Off

Last week Friday, the Isla Bonita Elementary School hosted its annual Cook Off between Std 4, 5 and 6. It was an excellent and delicious treat for Ambergris Today who was invited to sample the great food. Great Job Guys!

Pizza Cook Off at Lime, Tonight!

This time around Lime will hold a Pizza Cook Off for its next fundraiser. This will take place on Today, Friday, October 16 at the Lime Bar and Grill across from Tropic Air Terminal. All the known ones are in it, along with Pinocchio’s and some amateur chefs as always. The money from this one will go towards Fatima Arceo’s medical expenses. Special price on draft beer for people tasting the food. Cheers as always. HOPE TO SEE YOU BE THERE!

September's Belizean Food Cook Off

Another great Cook Off took place at Lime on Friday, September 25, this time it was all about Belizean Delicacies! The event managed to raise over $500bz for Foths/Saga. The next cook off is scheduled for Friday, October 16, and is likely to be a pizza one as that has been requested many times and there are a few out there that can go against each other and prove who really has the best pizza in San Pedro. Salbutes from El El Fogon.

The number 1 dish was the overall winner which were the Salbutes from El Fogon, Susana won an iPod Shuffle- a green one of course!

Maureen came second for her fish lasagna and won some wine, jewelry and dog lights.

Ingrid from Saga was third with her fantastic homemade Tamales, bless her I think she made 100 of them after a day at the clinic-she is super women and to be honest is Saga.

Belizean Food Cook Off at Lime

Another cook off comes flying around. This time the theme is traditional Belizean dishes so come and taste the best of the best. $10bz per person and all the profits this time will be going to Saga as they need just $1000.00bz more to build the isolation unit! Also please note that it will be smoke free between 6pm and 8pm so spread the word!
