It is unfortunate that it has to come to this, but the Belize Defense Force (BDF) soldiers can already be seen patrolling the streets of town. A spike in crime called for their presence on the island as their patrols help deter crime. Fast action from the San Pedro Business Association, Town Council and Area Representative made this possible. It is likely that the crime rate will go down in the coming weeks.

they need to be left on the island permanently and patrol the north end too
