Ambergris Caye Elementary School (A.C.E.S.) is a private school that has been operating since 2007 and has come a long way in obtaining great academic achievements. While classes are out for summer vacation, A.C.E.S. is undergoing some major changes for the upcoming 2010/2011 school year.

The first change at A.C.E.S. is its relocation to Turtle Street, just one block from the original location. On Tuesday, June 22, the playground that was donated to the school through fundraising efforts by parents was also moved to the new location, along with the cafeteria that was donated by Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr.

Another change for A.C.E.S. is that it will now be run by the students’ parents and a new board of directors has been appointed:
*Presidents – Florita Frisinger & Victoria Francois *Vice Presidents – Claudio Azueta & Ana Ico *Treasurers – Suay Alejos & Maria Luz Azueta *Secretaries – Jazelie Azueta & Analilia Rodriguez *Other members – Blanca Narvalles, Amanda Burgos and Jessica Eiley.

The school’s new motto is “Parents Empowering Children through Education” and the parents of A.C.E.S. are ready to move ahead and work together for betterment of the school and for the children.

The board of directors would also like to thank Hon. Manuel Heredia for all the assistance he has rendered to the school as well for his kind monetary contribution for the completion of the new building.

A.C.E.S. is proud to announce that for the Primary Secondary Examinations (PSE) they placed fourth best in the country and the first in the island. A kind invitation is extended to the public to visit the A.C.E.S. booth that will be at the dia de San Pedro Festivities fair ground. Registrations for the 2010/2011 school year are being taken at Hollywood Realty.
