Kids Take Flight

More kids of the Island Academy expanded their knowledge last week as students in Standard 4 learned about flight dynamics and aviation history after having visited Tropic Air's hangar.

Teacher Lisa Anderson and her students got to see the vast inventory of specialized airplane parts and sit in an older airplane that is for private sale. Head Mechanic Doug Gaunt challenged everyone to a paper airplane distance contest. Captain Gerald Leslie got into the spirit, but Customer Service's Dennis Sundermand's granddaughter Ivy Bladon won with the farthest flown paper airplane!
