Students from all schools on the island joined schools from across the country to observe International Literacy Day on Wednesday, September 8. In San Pedro, school children participated in a Literacy Parade around town. Students dressed up as their favorite literature characters, including Little Bo Peep & her Sheep, the Three Blind Mice, The Kittens who lost their Mittens, Alice in Wonderland, Jack be Nimble among others. Even the students of San Pedro High School participated in creating awareness for the importance of reading. The parade concluded at the Old Football Field where there were booths set up with more educational information for the students to get involved in reading.
