October 5, 2010 - The Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) is pleased to announce that it finalized an agreement last week with Idea Lab Studios to publish the next three editions of Destination Belize, Belize's official visitor's guide.
For the past fifteen years, BTIA's Destination Belize magazine has been the authority on Belize travel. Destination Belize is the trusted source of information for travelers and investors, and will continue to provide them with easy user-friendly access to current and relevant information on accommodations, tours and activities, restaurants, transportation, business, investment, real estate, meetings, events, and so much more.
"BTIA is particularly pleased with its decision to work with a local partner on this initiative for the very first time," comments Dionne Miranda, President of BTIA. "Idea Lab Studios has been a long time partner of BTIA, and does a significant amount of work in the tourism industry in Belize. We expect that with our new publisher, we will be able to embark on a new integrated marketing approach with Destination Belize."
The next edition is the 16th edition, and will be available in October 2011. This edition, Destination Belize 2012, will be more than just a printed magazine. In addition to the traditional high-quality printed piece that is distributed both locally and internationally, the publication will feature an interactive website and online version of the magazine, as well as an interactive travel piece on CD ROM. Additional marketing opportunities will also be made available to advertisers.
The next edition is particularly important due to the significance of the Maya history and culture. The year 2012 presents an opportunity to highlight the achievements and rich cultural history of the Belize Maya and celebrate the beginning of a new astronomical cycle. The celebration of our Maya heritage will undoubtedly be a central theme for this upcoming edition of Destination Belize, with timely distribution in October 2011.
Destination Belize is distributed free of charge locally in-room in Belize hotels, at points of entry, at retail outlets, as well as internationally at consumer and trade shows, from embassies and consulates and for mail-out fulfillment and other requirements in support of consumers and travel trade partners.
