First look at Damages of Hurricane Richard, Belize City


These are images arriving to Ambergris Today of the damage by Hurricane Richard to Belize City. There were lots of fallen trees, flooded streets and yards, damaged roof, structures and piers and debris scattered all over the place. More coming soon.

Costa Maya Delegates Have Arrived!

The eight Costa Maya delegates who will be competing at this year’s Reina de la Costa Maya Pageant have arrived in San Pedro. They set foot in Belize City on Thursday, July 30, and were taken on a city tour and enjoyed lunch at the famous Riverside Tavern before arriving in San Pedro. They are being hosted by Ramon’s Village, the official hotel for the Reina de la Costa Maya Pageant. If you would like to meet all eight contestants be sure to make it to Noche Sanpedrana, Friday, July 31, where the San Pedro Lions Club will host them for a night of entertainment and dinner at the Lions Den at 7:00p.m. The event is open to the general public. Miss Costa Maya 2008 Jennifer Chiong (from Guatemala) will also join the ladies at Noche Sanpedrana.

American Way Mag Features Belize

Ambergris Today attended this morning the Press Launch of Belize being featured on the cover of American Way Magazine that took place at the Radisson Fort George Hotel in Belize City. American Way is the in-flight magazine of American Airlines and since June 15, millions of passengers have been viewing our destination while flying thousands of miles above.

Gracing the cover of the American Way Magazing is Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow, First Lady of Belize. Speakers at the event included Mrs. Simplis Barrow, Mr. Adam Pitluk, Editor of American Way Magazine and Mrs. Shakira Oxley-Tsai, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
