Practicing for Lagoon Reef Eco Challenge

On our way to Monday dinner at Belizean Shores we encountered a group of kayakers practicing for the Lagoon Reef Eco Challenge that takes place this weekend in San Pedro. It's a two-day endurance race around the northern part of the island from lagoon to the east coast of San Pedro. Endurance is the key, so practice makes for better stamina. Organizer Elito Arceo says that it is turning out to be one of the biggest races to date as the number of participants is impressive. Race starts at 6:00am on Saturday, April 24, lagoon-side at the Old Football Field and ends the next day at Central Park.
