Miss Guatemala Wins Costa Maya Pageant

Miss Guatemala, Gabriela Asturias, was crowned the new Miss Reina de la Costa Maya 2010 at one of the most well-attended pageants in Costa Maya history. In a pageant to remember, Miss Guatemala took the stage along with the seven other contestants, with all of them dazzling the crowd and judges with their grace, elegance, charm and intelligence. It was Miss Guatemala who impressed the judges the most with her fluent answers and stunning presence on stage as she also garnered the title of Best Cultural Costume. Taking second place was Miss Nicaragua and Miss Panama finished third.

Costa Maya Pageant Host Arrives

Sandra Hoyos of Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo arrived at La Isla Bonita this morning. She was greeted by Chairman of the Costa Maya International Festival, Mr. Gach Guerrero. Sandra will be the host for the pageant night on Thursday, August 5, along with Mr. Eiden Salazar Jr. of the Reef Radio. International Costa Maya Festival.

The Costa Maya beauty delegates took a sailing trip on board the Lady Leslie today and basked in the sun before diving into the crystal blue waters at Shark Ray Alley where they had much fun swimming with the sharks and rays.

Costa Maya Pageant Contestants Arrive Today!

Undoubtedly the Cost Maya Festival starts when the pageant delegates arrive in San Pedro. Guess what? They all arrive today! Yes! Keep posted for pictures of their arrival around 11am. The beauty contestants will be hosted by the San Pedro Lions Club tomorrow, Saturday, at the Noche Sanpedrana event. Click on image above for more details.



Only four Costa Maya Pageant contestants arrived this morning at 11am aboard Maya Island Air, which include Miss El Salvador, Miss Honduras, Miss Mexico and Miss Costa Rica along with Reigning Miss Costa Maya 2009. Miss Belize was on hand to greet them as they arrived to la Isla Bonita, the remaining contestants Miss Nicaragua, Miss Panama and Miss Guatemala will arrive tomorrow.

With plenty of pageantry experience in her resume Liliana Mia Nuñez is a perfect candidate to represent Belize at this year’s Reina de la Costa Maya Pageant. She was crowned Miss San Pedro in 2006, represented Belize in Honduras for the Reina del Tropico Pageant in 2008 where she came back with the Miss Amity Award and won best cultural costume at the Miss America Latina Pageant 2009 held in Dominica Republic. A true Sanpedrana, Liliana is proud to represent her country in this year’s pageant at Costa Maya Festival 2010.
