Any Given Sunday

On any given Sunday, you will see quite a bit of activity on the beaches of Ambergris Caye. By just taking a nice quiet stroll up the beach you will see residents and tourists engaging in a variety of activities, be it fishing, swimming, sports on the beach or just relaxing and catching up with old friends. Here are a few pictures we took this past Sunday!

Happy Dia De San Pedro

Dia de San Pedro celebrations have been rescheduled for this weekend, but today June 29 we observe San Pedro Day (Dia de San Pedro). A special mass for the men was held at 4a.m. at the Roman Catholic Chursh and breakfast was served at the Lion's Den at 5a.m. What followed was the traditionl boat procession and blessing of the boats. Today's religious aspect of the celebration includes a novena at 6:30p.m., Mass at 7p.m. and street procession at 7:45pm. Celebrations continue from Friday to Sunday.

New Horizon's Graduates

New Horizon's Seventh Day Adventist School held its graduation ceremony yesterday, June 25, at the school compound. Javier Williams was the valedictorian in the graduating class of 21 students.

Drunk Diver Crashes into Fence

A drunk driver slammed his pick-up truck into a concrete fence causing extensive damage to the vehicle and destroying a parked bicycle and business sign. The accident took place in front of Master Lee's Massage Center and lucky for him, he was not sitting outside his business as he usually does or else the crash could have proven deadly for him. The driver of the truck attempted to escape but the police was able to arrest him. More details as we obtain an official Police Report.

Lions Convention Culminates with Parade

The San Pedro Lions Club hosted clubs around the country on the Island for its 32rd Annual Convention. The three-day celebration ended with a parade around town on Sunday, June 14. It was another successful Lions Convention. More on this Thursday's edition of Ambergris Today Newspaper.

San Pedro High School Senior Class 2009 celebrated its prom night on June 11, 2009 at the El Divino Restaurant. A large crowd awaited outside Banana Beach Resort to get a glimpse of the graduates and their dates as they made their grand entrance. It was a very glamorous event.
