The shop Spies surely had some problems over the weekend as a drunk driver decided to run into the store with his golf cart! Residents in neighboring area tell Ambergris Today that they heard a big crash at about 4am on Saturday night and looking out into the street they noticed that someone had driven their rental golf cart into the glass wall of this shop on Pescador Drive. The shop is located next to Snakz and immediately across Pirate Pizza. The garbage pick-up guys reported witnessing the accident to the San Pedro Police and the shop attendant reported $2,500 in damages.

Traffic Accident at Escalante Subdivision
Information is still forthcoming about a traffic accident that took place yesterday, August11, at the Escalante Subdivison. 'You Reporters" for Ambergris Today informed us about the collision between a taxi and a golf cart around mid afternoon. Official information from the Police Department has not made it to our office, but sources at the scene told us that a woman with a baby on hand and another small toddler next to her were on the golf cart as it struck the taxi coming in the opposite direction. Apparently the woman and toddler received minor bumps and bruises, but no serious injuries were apparent. More on this in tomorrow's edition of Ambergris Today Newspaper.

Easter Weekend Mishaps
Easter weekend did not go by without its mishaps. On Friday, April 10, thieves attempted to rob Marina’s Store on Seagrape Drive, just south of town. In an attempt to stop the thieves one man got shot and had to be air lifted to Belize City for medical treatment.
On Saturday, April 11, Police were dispatched to the scene on Seagrape Drive in front of The Villas at Banyan Bay, where they observed a cream four-seater golf cart belonging to Captain G’s Rentals at the right hand side of the road turned over with four wheels up in the air. Driver of the golf cart was 17-year-old, Zakir Tillett, Belizean Student of Sarstoon Street in Belize City.
And on Sunday, April 12, the San Pedro Fire Department responded to a house fire in the San Juan Area. A zinc structured house measuring about 7 x 20 sq ft. was engulfed by fire. The firemen were quick to out the fire and investigations reveal that the house belonged to a Mr. Hector Mungia and Mr. Santiagio Ortunia was occupying the house at the time.
