Mexico's Daylight Savings Time

· In Mexico, clocks go forward one hour on Sunday 5 April.

· The Daylight Saving Time will last until 25 October 2009.

Belmopan, 31 March 2009. - The Embassy of Mexico to Belize informs that on Sunday, 5 April, Mexico begins Daylight Saving Time or Summer Time (Horario de Verano). On that day at 2:00 am clocks go forward one hour to 3:00 am. That means that Mexico’s local time will run 1 hour ahead of Belize’s local time until 25 October 2009.

For example, on Sunday 5 April, 9:00 am in Belize local time will be in Mexico 10:00 am local time.

For those traveling within Mexico, the Embassy suggests to change your clock to move one hour ahead before going to sleep in the evening on Saturday, 4 April. That would ensure that you will keep on with local time while you are in Mexico.

If you are in transit through Mexico, please check your flight’s local time. For further information about the Daylight Saving Time in Mexico, please contact the Embassy of Mexico, at 822-0406, write to pressoffice@embamex.bz or visit the web page of the Embassy at www.sre.gob.mx/belice/
