Amazing Creatures of the Sea

While conducting our field reports and interviews we stumbled upon these two amazing sea creatures that one does not normally catches a glimpse of when out at sea. Why? Because they are creatures that are normally in hiding. They show us how beautiful and amazing our great barrier reef really is.

This is a picture of a squid that we took a picture of during the Christmas Boat Parade. The flash of our camera seemed to trigger the animal to burst into bright colors.

These moray eels live within the rocks in front of Rico's Bar & Grill at the Villas at Banyan Bay. The eels have come to like the restaurant staff who feed them on a regular basis for their guests to catch a glimpse at.

Woman Suffers Bike Accident

A woman sustained injuries after she fell from her bicycle minutes after midday today. According to witnesses, the lady was riding along Tarpon Street when she hit one of the cement posts along the sidewalk, which caused her to fall down hard on the pavement. She laid there in a conscious state, but it was obvious that she was in pain. She received scrapes on her head, arms and legs and was assisted by passersby who took her to a nearby clinic to receive immediate medical attention, in case she had suffered a concussion.

Wings Department Store Gets Escalator

You can tell that a store will be big when you see a semi-truck delivering an electric escalator at the location. Wings Department Store, located next to the airstrip, had an escalator delivered to the store this past Saturday, December 13. After the fire that destroyed the store's warehouse on the second floor, Wings started construction of a three story addition. The escalator will be the only one on the island. The only other escalator that we know of is one at the Corozal Free Zone.

With this addition to the store, we are expecting major changes to Wings, with bigger and better merchandise - can't wait to see.....

Fun Activities at ABC Pre School

The students at ABC Pre School got a special visit from their grandparents this past Wednesday. Each student got to sit along with their grandma or grandpa (if they got lucky with both) to create a special craft that was given to them. Needless to say, everybody had lots of fun sharing quality time together.

To the delight of the children Santa made a special visit to the school today, December 12.

Our reporter Sofie wanted some quality time with Santa too!
